So, the dreaded January has arrived and gone, did you manage to do a little wardrobe detox, to see what clothes you really use, and don’t? If you have clothes you don’t wear, what is the reason? Are those garments ready to make space to something that is more aligned with yourself? That will serve your lifestyle?
I have done my wardrobe detox as I told you last month and I keep removing items from my wardrobe that I can’t wear anymore! Oh yes of course I can, but I really have had enough of them and it’s time for a change.
I don’t let go of clothes so easily, because I like what I have, they fit me, but some of them have done their job.
So yesterday I added two more dresses to my vintage “shop”. I really need to replace these pieces though otherwise very soon I won’t have anything to wear any longer. 😅
Anyway, this month I want to talk about style personalities and help you find yours. Why? You might be wondering. Well, this is another way of finding who you are, it helps you navigate the abundance, or the excessiveness of the choice we have in the shops.
Our style might change as we navigate through life, it’s absolutely normal, don’t panic, just embrace a new you if you are turning that corner.
The Classic
The classic is elegant, put together, coordinated and chic. They prefer colour matching and neutral to keep it fresh and clean. The accessories are there but never overpowering.
You might agree with me that Kate Middleton represents this style very well.
The Romantic
The romantic exudes a lot of femineity, it’s about florals, details, laces and bows. Its also about colours, not flashy but more pastels.
Florence Welch shows this personality quite a lot in her style.
The Creative
The creative loves experimenting with different trends, patterns and cut of clothing. Not afraid of matching two different type of patterns for example and is very individual in their own style.
Lily Collins in Emily in Paris was very much creative.
The Dramatic
The dramatic is all about making a statement and saying I’m here! Don’t view this a negative point, it’s simply a way of being. It’s glam, bold, lots of details and love a contrast with their combinations and colours.
Rhianna and Lady Gaga are a good example of a dramatic style personality.
The Natural
The natural is unfussy, clothes need to be comfortable, quite neutral in their colour. Almost the Scandi way. They say I’m dressed, I am happy but no fuss!
Jennifer Aniston represents this style quite well.
Little disclaimer, these are just guidelines to help you finding your pieces and what you like, it’s not about being put in a box. While you clearly might be just a style personality, you can also go across a few of them. Nice, pick what you like!
What’s my style personality? I like to be creative and put together pieces that might not look like they match, there are also some aspects of the romantic personality that I like to.
