Learn how to navigate colour and choose the shades that work for YOU.

Do you ever find yourself wondering whether a colour really suits you?
This relaxed, interactive two-hour workshop will help you understand why some colours work better for you than others — and give you the confidence to make better choices when you’re shopping.
Do you know which colours really work for you?
Maybe you’ve experienced this before.
You see a beautiful colour in a shop and love it on the hanger — but when you put it on, something just doesn’t feel right.
Or perhaps you find yourself playing it safe with the same colours because you’re never quite sure what suits you.
And then there are the seasonal trends…
New colours appear every season and suddenly the shops are full of shades you’ve never considered before.
But here’s the thing:
You don’t have to wear every colour that’s fashionable.
You just need to learn how to recognise your version of it.
And that’s exactly what we’ll explore together.
This isn’t about telling you what colours you “can” or “can’t” wear.
It’s about helping you understand colour.
During the workshop, we’ll look at the colours emerging for Autumn/Winter 2026 and use them as a starting point to explore your own natural colouring.
You’ll learn how to look at colour through three simple dimensions:
WARM OR COOL
Does your natural colouring respond better to warmer or cooler versions of a colour?
LIGHT OR DEEP
Do lighter, softer shades work better for you, or do you come alive in deeper colours?
BRIGHT OR MUTED
Do clear, vibrant colours lift your features, or do softer, more muted shades feel more harmonious?
Once you start understanding these differences, choosing colour becomes much less confusing.
It’s interactive — not just something you’ll sit and listen to.
I’ll bring my professional colour drapes so that we can explore the different shades together.
You’ll be able to see how changing the temperature, depth and intensity of a colour can completely change the way it looks.
We’ll look at colours on the drapes, compare different versions and start asking:
What happens to my complexion?
Do my eyes become more noticeable?
Does the colour make me look brighter — or does it wear me?
You won’t be expected to memorise complicated colour theory.
The aim is to help you start seeing colour differently.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll understand…
YOUR NATURAL COLOURING
The features that influence how different colours interact with you.
HOW TO READ A COLOUR
Warm or cool, light or deep, bright or muted — and why these differences matter.
HOW TO ADAPT A TREND
Instead of rejecting a colour because it doesn’t seem to suit you, learn how to find a version that works better for you.
HOW TO SHOP WITH MORE CONFIDENCE
Know what to look for when you’re faced with rows of different shades in the shops.
We’ll use Autumn/Winter 2026 as our colour playground
Every season brings a new palette into the shops.
We’ll explore a selection of the colours you’ll be seeing this Autumn/Winter and, rather than simply telling you “these are the colours of the season”, we’ll look at their different variations.
Because the most fashionable colour isn’t necessarily the best colour for you.
The fun is discovering your version of it.
And the skill you learn will stay with you long after Autumn/Winter 2026 has passed.
What we’ll do together
10:00 — Welcome
We’ll introduce the workshop and why colour can sometimes feel so difficult to navigate.
10:15 — Understanding your colouring
We’ll explore warm/cool, light/deep and bright/muted and how these relate to your own natural features.
10:35 — The Colour Lab
Using real colour drapes, we’ll explore seasonal colours and their different variations.
11:25 — Making colour work in your wardrobe
We’ll look at simple ways to introduce colour — from a statement piece to knitwear, accessories or a small pop of colour.
11:45 — Your Colour Confidence
You’ll identify some of the shades you’re excited to try and take away practical ideas for shopping with more confidence.
12:00 — Finish
This workshop is for you if…
- You love clothes but often struggle to choose colours.
- You aren’t sure which shades really flatter you.
- You tend to stick to the same safe colours.
- You’ve bought something because you loved the colour, only to find that you didn’t feel quite right wearing it.
- You find the huge choice of colours in shops overwhelming.
- You’d love to wear more colour but don’t know where to start.
- You want to understand why some colours make you look brighter and healthier.
- You’d like to feel more confident when choosing clothes.
You don’t need to know anything about colour analysis.
Just come with an open mind and a willingness to experiment.
You’ll leave with more than just a list of colours.
You’ll have a better understanding of how to look at colour and how your own natural features can guide your choices.
You’ll also receive a Colour Confidence Guide to help you remember what you’ve discovered and put it into practice when you’re shopping.
And hopefully, you’ll leave with a new thought:
“I don’t need to follow every colour trend. I just need to find the version that works for me.”
